Our Story

Celeste and Scott Hecox first came across a quaint small chapel nestled in the trees in Memphis, Tennessee more than a decade ago. Their youngest son had been born a couple of months prior and they wanted a beautiful backdrop for family photos before moving away from Memphis, which had been home for over 5 years. The photographer captured beautiful images of Scott swinging their almost two- year-old daughter around in the chapel and  from that moment, the chapel would become their unshakable muse over the next decade as they put roots down in Waco. Scott and Celeste loved the idea of a place to gather with a sense of community and history, so when a partially renovated creek side Cotton Gin on a creek came up for sale, their vision came to fruition. The architecturally stunning creek side chapel is the focal point set into the trees and beside the creek. Modernizing the rest of the space while honoring the history and function of this industrial space, that was rooted in this community, was equally important. So, the slow deliberate process of bringing back a piece of Waco’s history into the present and providing a stage to foster community and social engagement marking the momentous occasions that make up the next generations stories.
